Little History
In Norse mythology the Viking tree of life is believed to be a giant ash tree called Yggdrasil.
It is not known exactly where runes came from, somewhere between the first and third century A.D Norse mythology legend say the Scandinavians Chief Norse God called Odin self sacrificed himself to gain wisdom and knowledge about all things and runes. He achieved this by sacrificing one of his eyes in Mimirs well located under the Yggdrasil tree. Then he threw himself on a spear then he hung himself in the Yggdrasil tree for 9 days and 9 nights. Its said Odin gained magical power from this which lead the Norse people to believe the rune holds tremendous power leading to rune master that study the power of the runes.
